Final Project

My final project was based on the same idea as my first project. However, it was more advanced. The first project only had one section, where different movie clips were clicked in order to play and loop sounds. This project has approximately 8 different sections.

The 8 sections consist of one image (that I took) of some place that I had been to. I devided them up into categories (railway station, seaside, jungle, mountains, underwater and a basement.

Originally, I was going to take movie clips of these different places and use the sound files, but this didn't happen, because, for some odd reason, Flash wouldn't import them, so I modified some sounds from a computer game and used them instead.

Each image has a few buttons, which, when clicked, play and loop sounds that are related to that particular image. For example, the train station image would play sounds that relate to trains, the jungle image would play jungle sounds etc.

My Career Path

During the summer break, I wish to find a part time job, so that I can gain experience and improve my skills. Some options that I have looked at include hosting karaoke, playing in a band and office administration/clerical work.

I have applied for a few jobs, but with no sucess. Maybe I am not looking hard enough. To overcome this problem, I will therefore need to contact particular companies in the Gold Coast area. (Not just sending them an email with a resume attached, but actually ringing them up or going to see them in person.) This is so that the employer can take a good look at me, to see if I am capable of upholding a job.

A few weeks ago, I placed an ad on www.timeoff.com.au. Time Off is a magazine dedicated to the independent music scene in southeast Queensland and Northern NSW. As the ad has not been published in the magazine yet, I have had no responses, but am hoping to get a few.

Ideas for first project

Basically what I want to do is make an interactive piece based on the theme of Obsessive Compulsive Dissorder (OCD). The project will consist of an opening screen, giving instructions to the user on how to operate the project, and the second part will consist of 4 video clips, each with their own sound track. The idea is to sync up the sounds to create a little song.

No matter how hard the user tries, the sound tracks will not sync up, thus giving the feeling of suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder.
